HVLP uses high volumes of air to atomise paint at low pressure. This results in low overspray and a high transfer efficiency ( the amount of material that actually goes on the surface compared to the amount lost due to overspray). The more air you add to atomise the paint, the better the finish. The less pressure you use for the air, the less overspray you have.
