It’s often neglecting the basics that cause the most issues. This month’s Top Tip is simply to mix your paint!
Mix it up!
Whether you’re buying a new tin of paint or taking one from your stores, it is essential that you take the time to mix it.
Not by hand or with a mixing stick but with a drill & mixer!
When material is sat for a period of time, all the pigment/solids sink to the bottom of the tin. When you put the wetend of your suction tube into the paint it will go straight to the bottom and suck up all the pigment sludge into your spray machine, first.
This can cause:
- Line blockages
- Tip blockages
- Clog or break your strainer and/or filter
- Cause your balls to get jammed and more.
Sounds painful, right? Well, it is if you new to have your machine serviced before it needs to be and purchase new parts.
The solution
Using a drill & mixer will evenly mix and evenly distribute all the pigment/solid uniformly throughout the paint. You won't experience the inconsistencies of mixing by hand.
This is the best way to ensure your paint is good to go and that your job sprays smoothly.
Conclusion
If you have any of the issues mentioned above, it maybe that you haven’t mixed your paint properly but there maybe something else going on. Contact the team to discuss an issue and book in a service, if required.
